A NOTE FROM LAVENDER

Like many educators, my late husband, Nick "Dubb" Whitaker was deeply dedicated to the students he taught. Since his passing and following my election to the School Board, I've had the opportunity to meet many equally dedicated teachers. I continue to be inspired by how our community consistently comes together to support one another, like many of you supported my family following Nick's death. The current COVID-19 crisis is yet another example of how our community has come together. Neighbors are helping each other and community members are donating food as well as other assistance to those struggling most in our community. As always, Castro Valley continues to rally behind our students, teachers and schools. My daughter and I are honored to be a part of this community and I appreciate the opportunity to serve our students on the Castro Valley School Board.
